About Akron Public Schools
APS works to achieve excellence through equity by eliminating inequities so that all APS scholars, families and educators will be seen, heard and valued. It is the fifth largest district in Ohio with approximately 20,000 students enrolled, 47 schools and community learning centers (CLCs), and more than 3,500 employees.
Akron Public Schools (APS) is a designated Ford Next Generation Learning Community located in Akron, Ohio, and the only district in Ohio that offers Pre-K-12 College & Career Academies. The College & Career Academies transform the student learning experience through hands-on learning supported by an extensive network of business and community partners.
The district features:
Community Learning Centers that provide students and Akron-area residents with places to learn, gather and connect during and after school and on weekends.

Any inquiries about the application of Title IX and its implementing regulations to the district may be referred to the Title IX coordinator as listed above, the Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, or both.
The Board has adopted a grievance process and procedures that provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of student and employee complaints alleging any action that is prohibited by Title IX and/or its implementing regulations. The grievance process and procedures are included in Policy 2266 — Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex in Education Programs or Activities, which is available here: Click here for the link to Policy 2266.
The grievance process and procedures specifically address how to report or file a complaint of sex discrimination, how to report or file a formal complaint of Sexual Harassment, and how the district will respond.
